The Texas Music Office launched Music Friendly Texas in 2016 — the first program of its kind in the nation. It certifies communities that commit to building a working local music economy.
Tyler was certified in January 2024, the state's 55th Music Friendly community.
Visit Tyler leads the local effort through its Music Friendly Advisory Board.
The program built the venues. We work on the artists.
Tyler's Music Friendly work has done a lot for our venues and events. RRT works the other side of that: giving local bands a place to rehearse and the video and press kits that get them booked.
